Five weeks painting and playing with children...absolute bliss. In January 2009, I traveled to Tanzania to volunteer in an orphanage in The Great Rift Valley.
I spent my days painting a mural in the public school, teaching pre-school and caring for the children. My life is ever richer for the experience.
The children stole my heart in a way I had not anticipated. They will be a part of my life forever.
Symmetry and detail are not my strong suits. I prefer loose, bold strokes and the freedom to allow a painting to evolve with the creative process.
But the world was what they asked for and the world is what I tried to give.
I love the fact that Africa is big and beautiful, and looks to be the center of the world.
